About

Sydney City Removals is a removalist service for the Sydney CBD and inner city, built around the one thing that makes a city move different: the building, not the street.

Sydney City Removals is a removalist service for the Sydney CBD and the inner city — the towers of the core, Haymarket and Barangaroo, the heritage lanes of The Rocks and Millers Point, the converted wharves of Pyrmont and Ultimo, and the art-deco apartment streets of Darlinghurst, Potts Point and Elizabeth Bay. We are claim-light by design: no invented history, no made-up reviews, no fake awards. What we offer is a crew that moves through the city’s buildings every day and plans the job the way the city actually works.

Because the city works differently. Out in the suburbs you reserve the kerb and load from the front. Here there is no kerb to rely on — no off-street parking in the core, and the City of Sydney’s works zone is construction-only, so it is no help for a move. In practice every move runs through the building: a booked loading dock, the goods lift (not the passenger lift), a move notice to building management, and a certificate of currency for the removalist’s public-liability cover that most buildings demand before they will unlock anything. Get one of those wrong and the move stalls at the gate. That is the part we exist to handle.

What we do

We handle apartment and home removals, office and commercial moves, single heavy items and stair-carries, packing and unpacking, interstate moves and storage. Whether it is a studio above a Chinatown laneway, a marketplace sofa up a narrow Potts Point deco stairwell, or a whole office relocating through a Barangaroo loading dock, we bring the crew, the right-sized truck and the gear to do it carefully — and the paperwork the building needs.

How we work

  • We plan the building, not the street. We confirm the dock height, the freight-lift dimensions, the booking window and the move notice at both ends before move day, so the crew is never turned away at the door.
  • Certificate of currency, ready. The public-liability certificate your building asks for comes as standard with every move, not as an afterthought.
  • Deco stairs and glass towers, both. A 1930s walk-up with no lift is a measured stair-carry; a new tower is dock-and-lift logistics. We read the building first and bring the right approach.
  • Fully insured, honest quotes. Your belongings are covered while we move them, and your quote is based on your actual building and move, with no day-of surprises.
