Sydney CBD & inner city

In the city there is no kerb — every move runs through the dock.

Sydney CBD and inner-city removalists who move through the loading dock, the goods lift and a booked window, not the street. We bring the dock plan and the certificate of currency your building demands.

A Sydney CBD street at dusk, heritage and modern towers, a removal truck at a building loading dock

The street is a dead end

No off-street parking, no casual moving-day kerb permit. The works zone is construction-only — 6 to 8 weeks and 26-week blocks. The dock is the way in.

The building runs the move

A booked dock window, the goods lift not the passenger lift, a move notice, and a certificate of currency before management unlocks anything.

Every building is different

A glass-tower dock, a converted Pyrmont wharf, a Potts Point deco walk-up with no lift. We read your building first, then plan the move around it.

Certificate of currency ready We bring the public-liability certificate building management asks for before the dock is unlocked, every move.
A city crew, not a suburban one We move through loading docks, goods lifts and booked windows daily, from glass towers to Potts Point deco walk-ups.
We book the dock and the lift We confirm the dock height, freight-lift dimensions, booking window and move notice with your building before the day.
Insured and protected Your belongings are covered while we move them, and we pad the lift, protect heritage finishes and wrap as standard.
The anatomy of a city move

Four things every CBD move actually runs on

Out in the suburbs a move is a truck and a driveway. In the city it is a dock, a goods lift, a window and a certificate — and getting any one of them wrong stalls the whole day.

Step one

The loading dock

No kerb in the core. We reverse a box truck that fits the dock clearance (often 3.5 to 4.5 m) and stage the load there.

Step two

The goods lift

The freight lift, not the passenger lift. We book it, pad it and supervise it for the whole window.

Step three

The booked window

Buildings allocate a dock-and-lift window, often a single hour. We plan the whole move to land inside it.

Step four

The certificate

Management wants our certificate of currency and a move notice before access. We lodge both ahead of the day.

Why choose us

City knowledge, careful hands, honest quotes

We plan the building, not the street

In the CBD the access is the whole job. We confirm the dock height, the freight-lift size, the booking window and the move notice at both ends before move day, so the crew is never turned away at the gate.

Deco stairs and glass towers, both

A 1930s Potts Point walk-up with no lift is a measured stair-carry; a Barangaroo tower is pure dock-and-lift logistics. We read the building first and bring the right crew, truck and protection for it.

Insured, every move

Your belongings are covered while we're carrying them, and the certificate of currency your building demands is part of the service, not an afterthought.

Transparent quotes

A clear quote based on your actual move and access at both ends. What you are told up front is what you pay, with no day-of surprises.

Common questions

Good to know before a city move

Can I just park the truck out the front?

In the CBD core, almost never. There is no off-street parking and the City of Sydney works zone is construction-only (it takes 6 to 8 weeks and is billed in 26-week blocks), so the move runs through the building loading dock and goods lift instead. Newer flat buildings are also excluded from the resident visitor parking permit, which makes the dock the only realistic option.

What is a certificate of currency and why does my building want one?

It is insurer-issued proof that the removalist holds an active public-liability policy. Most city buildings and strata require a copy before they will unlock the dock or release the goods lift, and some ask for cover up to $20 million. We provide ours as standard, so it is one less thing to chase.

How far ahead should I book the dock and lift?

For residential strata, book the freight lift one to two weeks ahead, and longer for weekends or end of month. Towers and precincts like Barangaroo allocate tight windows that go quickly. Tell us your building and dates early and we will line up the booking and the notice for you.

My block is a deco walk-up with no lift — can you still do it?

Yes. Many of the smaller inter-war walk-ups in Potts Point, Elizabeth Bay and Darlinghurst have no lift, so the move is a measured carry up narrow deco stairs. We measure the stairwell turns first, bring the crew and stair-protection, and treat the heritage finishes with care.
